When it comes to finding a home, the first step that I recommend is to contact a dedicated professional Realtor. There are many steps to purchasing a home, and one of the most important, if not the most important steps is to find a Realtor that you want to work with. There are many real estate agents, and not all are Realtors. A Realtor takes an oath to uphold a strict code of ethics, and that is one of the main differences between a Realtor, and a real estate agent.
The main reason I believe that you should start with a Realtor, is that the Realtor is the main person that is involved in every aspect of your purchase. A Realtor can make the difference between you getting the home of your dreams and not getting the home of your dreams. I know there will be those that will say they can find there own house, Deal with the agent that is listing the house, find there own loan, and make everything happen without finding a Realtor to work with at all. I would answer those people with an answer of yes, you can do all those things, and at what cost did you pay to do that. Did you spend many hours of your time that you could have been doing something else? Did you get the best possible price for the home? Did you get the best possible terms and rate for the loan that you found? Could you have found a home that was more of what you wanted, and paid less for it? All these questions are useful thought to have before deciding to look for a home on your own.
I know that a Realtor that is dedicated to understanding what a client wants, and knows how to take that understanding and make everything work in the clients best interest, is something that you can not really put a dollar value on. I know that a Realtor will have the best of lenders that they work with on a consistent basis, and that you will get the best possible rate and term for you home loan. I know that a Realtor will be able to get the best possible deal for you when it comes to negotiating the contract on your home purchase. I know that a Realtor can find exactly what you want, in far less time that you can on your own, simply because they do it for a living. I also know that a Realtor working for you as a buyer’s agent, will in most cases cost you nothing, and save you plenty, of time and money.
So before you decide to spend all your time and effort looking for a home on your own, take some time to find a dedicated professional Realtor, that you can work with first, you will be glad you did.
